The EBEC is a 3-level, team-based competition, on 2 categories -Team Design and Case Study.
Both categories are based on interdisciplinary tasks developed for students of technology.
The winning teams from the local rounds progress to the national & regional rounds.
Then, winners of these rounds progress to final round, which is taking place this year in Turin.
Team Design: this category consists of solving a given task in teams, within a limited time and a limited availability of materials. The desired outcome is a device that has to meet certain criteria defined in advance.
Case Study: this category consists of providing a solution to a technical or a management problem within a limited time with no actual construction of any device or assembling of materials. In the end, the teams present the outcomes they came up with.

- Selection criteria:
- Your team must the winning team of one of the Local Rounds of Ekaterinburg, Moscow, Saint-Peterburg, Ekaterinburg UrFU. At least 3 participants of the winning team should be present for the whole event. [An exception to this rule is possible if the winning team cannot participate in the event]
All of the following are covered by the event fee:
- 3 meals per day
- Public transport, walking
